I have finally finished making the skirt from my very own skirt pattern!
And the back ...
And here's a similar one I bought 2 years ago from Morgan..
It cost me £15 reduced from £75 (!!!) in a sale.
My own skirt cost the princely sum of £10'ish:
Fabric - £2.50/metre (stretch cotton sateen)
Zip - £1.50
Vintage belt buckle - £3.50
Time, Tantrums (invisible zipper!), Thread - £2.50
Cheap at twice the price I'd say
and twice as nice to boot.
(even if I do say so myself)
Wow - I'm impressed. It looks great and is very flattering.
ReplyDeleteoooo Julia, that is lovely, well done. Nice figure too missus :) I really must lay off the cake.
ReplyDeleteTwiggy x
It looks fantastic... especially on you. (Not sure my bulgy belly would look quite so elegant!)
ReplyDeletelooks fabulous... you have a great figure! how rewarding to not only make the skirt but to know that you have made huge savings too.
ReplyDeleteMarmalade couture? Whatever next! Seriously though, that is amazingly professional and looks stunning on you. Mind you, with a figure like yours most things will look good. Well done you - I feel this is the first of many! x

ReplyDeleteso so so much better than the Morgan one... well done, brilliant, I am so impressed.

ReplyDeleteI really wish we could all return to a time of elegance in what we wear out... I am the worst culprit ever for wearing clothes for comfort rather than style... but I love the style of the 40's and 50's...
X Alex
